4/09/08 > Sensdata Sponsors Brass Band Tour of Brittany

South Yorkshire’s Sensdata Ltd was delighted to offer support to the local Whiston Brass Band, by stepping in to sponsor the band’s recent summer tour of Brittany, France.

Sensdata supplied Whiston Band with a set of smart summer shirts, embroidered to commemorate the 2008 tour and to promote both the band and Sensdata at a number of exclusive outdoor concerts at venues, including Le Mont St Michel and the historic town of Fougeres.

Sensdata Limited – specialists in the development of intelligent electronic systems – is headed by Managing Director, Dr Robert Brown, a keen brass band enthusiast and player with many local bands.

Sensdata Ltd sponsorship of Whiston Brass BandBand manger, John Johnson said: “Sensdata’s generous support really helped us to promote the brass band’s tour, enhancing the image of the band and strengthening the good relationship we have with our many friends in Brittany. We had a fantastic tour this year and received many favourable comments regarding the band’s appearance on the concert stages!”

Dr Brown: “Sensdata is only too pleased to lend support to Whiston Band and to help a local organisation promote itself, as well as this traditional British musical activity, both at home and abroad.

“Many of the well known brass bands such as Grimethorpe Colliery Band are commercially sponsored and enjoy great exposure. Sensdata welcomed this opportunity to help a small village band who in turn encourage many young children to learn to read music and play an instrument.”

Whiston Band is now starting to raise money for a tour of Poland next year and will welcome enquiries from any local companies interested in sponsorship opportunities.
